ALIMONY
1. TEMPORARY ALIMONY.
Money paid to support a spouse from the date of the petition for dissolution of marriage to the entry of the final judgment.

2. BRIDGE -THE- GAP ALIMONY.
Money paid for a short period of time to help with the change from being married to being single.

3. REHABILITATIVE ALIMONY.
Money paid for several months or a few years to help economically rehabilitate a spouse.

4. PERMANENT ALIMONY.
Money paid from the economically superior spouse to the other until the other dies or remarries or the paying spouse dies.

5. LUMP SUM ALIMONY.
One sum of money paid in one lump sum or paid out monthly or periodically.

6. ACTUAL INCOME.
All income earned or received.

7. IMPUTED INCOME.
An amount of income imputed to the unemployed or under employed spouse.

8. ADULTERY AND ALIMONY.
Has no or very little effect upon alimony.

9. COHABITATION AND ALIMONY.
Living together could lower or terminate periodic alimony.

10. MODIFICATION OF ALIMONY.
Changing the amount of alimony or the length of time for the payment of alimony based upon a substantial change of circumstances.

11. ALIMONY PAID TO RECIPIENT.
Alimony can be paid directly to the recipient rather than being paid to the court.

12. ALIMONY PAID THROUGH THE COURT.
Alimony can be paid through the court rather than directly to the recipient.
