CONTEMPT AND ENFORCEMENT
1. CIVIL CONTEMPT.
The punishment for not complying with a court order.

2. CIVIL INCARCERATION.
Going to jail for violating a court order when one has the ability to comply with it.

3. ABILITY OR INABILITY TO PAY WHAT IS OWED.
This determines what sanctions will be imposed against one who violates a court order.

4. DIRECT CRIMINAL CONTEMPT.
Violating a court order in front of the judge.

5. INCOME DEDUCTION ORDER.
An order directing one’s employer to deduct money from the employee’s paycheck and pay it directly to the spouse.
