ATTORNEY’S FEES
1. TEMPORARY ATTORNEY’S FEES.
Fees to the lawyer awarded at the beginning of the case.

2. TEMPORARY COSTS AND OTHER EXPENSES.
Filing fees, deposition costs, expert witness fees are examples.

3. PERMANENT ATTORNEY’S FEES.
Fees awarded to a lawyer at the conclusion of the case based upon the number of hours expended and a reasonable hourly rate.

4. PERMANENT COSTS AND OTHER EXPENSES.
Transcriptions of depositions or court hearings, real estate appraisal fees, business valuation expert costs are examples.

5. HOW MUCH.
Matrimonial lawyers charge a retainer fee and an hourly rate. The retainer fee ranges from $2,500 to $25,000 more or less and an hourly rate ranges from $250 to $450 more or less.

6. WHO PAYS.
Whoever hires a lawyer pays the retainer fee. The remainder of the fee is negotiable or can be litigated .

7. ATTORNEY’S FEE LIENS.
If the fees are not paid the lawyer has the right to keep his file and secure the unpaid fees by a lien.
