PATERNITY
1. WHO IS THE LEGAL FATHER.
This is a husband whose wife had a child during the marriage fathered by another man.

2. WHO IS THE BIOLOGICAL FATHER.
The man who caused the pregnancy.

3. DNA TEST.
Useful in determining who is the biological father.

4. MEDICAL BILLS FOR BIRTH.
These can be paid by the biological father.

5. CHILD SUPPORT.
Payable by the father to the mother and determined by the child support guidelines.

6. RETROACTIVE CHILD SUPPORT.
The mother can get child support for twenty-four (24) months prior to filing the paternity case.

7. CUSTODY.
The court can award shared parental responsibility and primary residential parenthood to either the mother or the father.

8. VISITATION.
The non-custodial parent will have frequent and continuing contact with the child.
