Are the Princeton Review SAT practice test generally harder than the Sat and other prep books?
I took the Barron’s 2400 practice test and I got a score in the range of 1450-1520. I got a 1580 on the PSAT. I took the PR sat practice test and I got a 1210!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m so annoyed. Now I really dont know where I stand in terms of SAT performance.
There are a variety of test prep companies that also publish their own materials. It’s important to note that while their tests may be written by well-qualified academic experts, they are not written by The College Board (the actual organization behind the SAT Exam). Whether or not they are more/less difficult is ultimately irrelevant. The bottom line is they are inaccurate.
To ensure that your practice test scores accurately reflect your true abilities, it is highly recommended that you stick with official College Board tests only. There are plenty of highly effective SAT Prep programs that exclusively utilize College Board tests as part of their curriculum. You can visit www.collegeboard.com to obtain a free exam. The Official SAT Study Guide (2nd edition) is the current standard if you are looking for the best source for multiple SAT exams. The exams they use are real, previously-administered exams. You can be the judge as to why a tutoring organization would choose to print their own materials vs. utilizing an affordable text book (in the $15 price range) from the makers of the actual exam.
